1. I have been on "staycation" for the past week and a half (give or take). It never fails though... as soon as I get more than a couple of days off in a row, I get sick. It's like my body refuses to get sick until I slow down. Once again my body has to go and piss me off.
2. Christmas was great...except for the being sick part. And if you are friends with me on facebook, you've no doubt seen the pictures of me on Christmas day in my pajamas, "sexy" slippers, and bathrobe. I make no excuses... I felt like crap.
3. The kids were fairly good during the build up to Santa coming. Miss Thang did have a melt-down over whether chocolate chips in reindeer food were actually safe for the reindeer. So, we used a not-so-human-friendly version of oatmeal and glitter instead. The glitter is for the reindeer to see the twinkling in the moonlight and know where the oats are (in case you didn't know).
4. I got my old-age gift that I wanted. A genie bra! In fact I got TWO! I could spin it to not sound like a granny bra and say it is very similar to a sports bra, but those who know me, know I have never owned a sports bra in my life, as I rarely exercise or play sports.
5. The handmade gifts I gave most of the women I know were big hits this year. My bff and I made necklaces and key chains from pictures that we decoupaged onto mosaic glass tiles. I have to admit, they were pretty cool. So cool that we had quite a few people ask us to make some for them and we sold over $100 worth! We may have found a market for this crafting stuff!
6. Today is the first day in a week that my brain isn't fuzzy...and yet, I can't seem to think of anything interesting or witty.
7. Some more of my gifts this year include 2 - 2 1/2 pound bags of Dunkin Donuts coffee. That would be from my wonderful friend Tabitha who got me hooked on the stuff. Now that's a true friend... get you hooked on legal stimulants AND supply it occasionally throughout the year! I love her.
8. I also got coffee and/or coffee related items from my bff and my step-sis. It seems to be a theme with me. I don't mind one bit though.
9. The man-tastic Todd had a poster of my game character made. That was pretty cool! I can't decide whether to try and find a frame to fit it or just hang it up old school with some tape. But, it's gotta go up.
10. I guess now I should really decide whether to take the Christmas decorations down or wait until after New Year's. Maybe I should give this cold another day to vacate the premises. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! And in case I don't blog again before this weekend... Happy New Year!
